WHAT TO EXPECT

When You Come Worship with Us

FIVE ACTS OF WORSHIP

SINGING

We, as a congregation, use our voices only as a form of worship to God and speak to one another in songs (Ephesians 5:19). Singing is an expression of praise in which every Christian in the assembly has the opportunity to participate. Because the human voice is the greatest instrument given by God and only one authorized in the New Testament, you will notice there will not be any other musical instruments utilized in our song services.

PRAYER

No. At least, there is no creed in the usual sense of the word. The belief of the church is stated fully and completely in the Bible. There is no other manual or discipline to which the members of the church of Christ give their allegiance. The Bible is considered as the only infallible guide to heaven.

PREACHING

We give a voluntary offering to the Lord each Sunday (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). As a guest you are not expected to give but it is expected of members as they can (1 Timothy 6:17-19).

OFFERING

We hear a lesson from God’s word which is found in the Bible (2 Timothy 2:2; Acts 20:7; 2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible and only the Bible is the foundation of our lives.  The sermons are taken directly from the scriptures with a focus on a practical application in our daily life.

We strive to worship our God in spirit and in truth.  Our aim is to honor God, remember all that our Lord has done for mankind, to edify each other and to encourage each other to live more Godly lives.  We welcome you to join us as we continue on our journey to our heavenly home.

COMMUNION

We observe every first day of the week as instructed by our Lord the communion or the Lordโ€™s supper (Acts 20:7). This is a special time for saints to focus on the death, burial and most importantly the resurrection of Jesus that made Godโ€™s plan for salvation complete.ย  This involves eating the bread and drinking the fruit of the vine which represents the body and blood of Jesus.ย  It is also a symbol of our unity as the body of Christ, the church (Matthew: 26: 26-28). โ€‹
